I have a freight forwarder I am happy with, can I still use LimeROUTE?
Absolutely. LimeROUTE's objective is not to be a different freight forwarder, but to view the supply chain from an end to end point of view.
LimeROUTE will work with efficient freight forwarders while still removing any unnecessary activities to ensure the lowest cost, reliable delivery of your goods.

My existing 3pl is doing a fine job, how can LimeROUTE improve on that?
Great. LimeROUTE is non-asset based and as such does not replace 3pl providers. However, LimeROUTE will remove all duplicate data handling, separate EDI links and provide more visibility to the 3pl ensuring proper coordination and planning. It's the removal of duplication that accounts for a significant portion of the overall cost savings.

I am using an LLP (lead logistics provider), doesn't that provide me with what I need?
Possibly, but not likely. If your LLP is asset based (i.e. operates their own warehouses or transport), there is a clear conflict of interest. Further, other asset based providers will be reluctant to participate as they are required to disclose confidential pricing to a competitor. If the LLP is non-asset based, the LLP will still need to rely on the provider's systems (manual of IT) resulting in unnecessary integration cost and lack of visibility. Finally, it is typical that there is little cost transparency making it very difficult to audit actual freight and/or warehousing costs.
